Trucks

They start early, drive late, and keep India’s wheels turning — yet rarely do we stop to appreciate the real force behind our supply chains: the ety. These men and women are more than just drivers; they are the backbone of India’s transport economy.

Understanding their pivotal role, Tata Motors has launched “Trucking into the Future - Safer Always” - a ground-level initiative focused on making India’s roads safer through the combined power of smart trucks and skilled Saarthis.

This national campaign is travelling across 30 major transport hubs between April and June 2025, engaging directly with commercial vehicle drivers to build a culture of safety, responsibility and pride.

A Smarter Approach to Trucking

Commercial vehicles are the lifeline of Indian logistics. But with long driving hours, outdated vehicles and inconsistent training, safety often takes a back seat. Tata Motors is tackling this challenge head-on by showcasing its range of commercial vehicles equipped with cutting-edge safety technologies, including:

  • ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems)
  • Driver Monitoring Systems
  • Fleet Management Solutions

These tools are designed to reduce human error, monitor fatigue, and make every journey more predictable and protected - not just for the driver, but for everyone on the road.

Saarthi First: Training and Wellness

Technology alone isn’t enough. That's why this initiative also focuses on upskilling the Saarthi. Through practical sessions and awareness drives, the program is helping drivers:

  • Master safer driving habits
  • Understand the benefits of safety tech
  • Manage fatigue and stress effectively
  • Manage fatigue and stress effectively

By putting the Saarthi at the centre, Tata Motors is redefining what road safety really means — it starts with the person behind the wheel.

What They Say

Lauding the campaign, fleet owner Suyash Gupta highlighted the importance of upskilling the saarthis for safe driving to keep our roads accident free. He also spoke about creating awareness of safety features among our driver force like engine brakes, hill start assist, FleetEdge telematics, and ADAS safety features that enhance driving experience. Maharashtra Transport Commissioner weighed in, saying that the importance of our Saarthis in India's logistics industry and in driving the economy forward cannot be stressed enough, and urged for the upskilling of drivers to keep our roads accident free.

Why Safety Matters for the Economy

Unsafe trucks and unsafe driving practices don’t just cause accidents — they create ripple effects across businesses and communities. Disruptions in delivery impact supply chains, increase costs, and ultimately, slow down growth. Safer trucks mean smoother operations, better fleet performance and stronger economic momentum.

The Road Ahead

With Trucking into the Future – Safer Always, Tata Motors is driving more than trucks — it’s driving change. By blending innovation with grassroots engagement, this initiative ensures that India's logistics warriors are not just moving goods — they’re doing it safely, smartly and sustainably.
