Trucks

When it comes to heavy duty commercial vehicles, technical details make all the difference. Especially factors like the Gross Combination Weight (GCW) and Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), that affect the truck’s payload capacity and ultimately, your profitability. With your benefit in mind, Tata Motors has developed the Tata Signa 5530.S 4x2 with multiple Gross Combination Weight combinations, depending on your choice of trailer, between the 51 tonne to 55 tonne range.

Understanding Payload

The payload of a truck is the maximum load that it can legally carry, which is determined by the GCW minus the unladen weight of the tractor and trailer, that is the chassis weight, cabin weight & load body weight. The higher the payload, the higher your revenues.

Gross Vehicle Weight

The GVW of a truck is its total weight, with a higher value allowing for a higher payload and hence greater profitability. With an increase in GVW, the number of axles and tyres keeps increasing too.

Gross Combination Weight

GCW is combined weight of every axle placed under the tractor and trailer, where each axle has a designated rating as per CMVR. Higher the GCW, higher the possibility of payload which may lead to higher revenue generation. With the increase in GCW, the number of axles and tyres keep on increasing. Currently, 55 tonne is the highest possible GCW tractor trailer in the country.

Axles

The axle is an aggregate on which wheels are mounted. Each set of the axle has a predefined tonnage rating as per CMVR. Tonnage configuration for M&HCVs is the combined weight of all the axles placed under the chassis, where each axle has a designated rating as per CMVR.

Tata Signa 5530.S 4x2 GCW Configurations

The Tata Signa 5530.S has a 18.5T tractor with 2 independent pneumatic suspended lift axle and one mechanical suspended axle that add up to 55T GCW. Its proposed trailer configurations give you various tonnage with mechanical suspension options. The trailer options include 51T with single mechanical suspended axle and mechanical suspended tandem axles. 52T with single pneumatic suspended lift axle and mechanical suspended tandem axles, 53T with 3 independent mechanical suspended axles. 54T with single pneumatic suspended lift axle and mechanical suspended two independent axles. Going all the way up to 56T with 2 independent pneumatic suspended lift axles and independent pneumatic suspended axles.

By giving you this broad selection of trailers and GCW options, you get to choose the best for your business and raise your bottom line.
